Where stones come alive

My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

India | Monday, November 7, 2011 | 5 photos

The camera has always connected me to a world much beyond. Pictures can take you to millions of people and places you've never been to and get them connected to you in no time. Its a feeling of capturing a moment and keeping it alive for a lifetime(even in case your memory fails you). Currently working one of a leading apparel brand in Bangalore, India I would go on describing myself as a free spirited and 'live in the moment' sort of a person.Nature amuses me and mankind amazes me no limit. Change is word they say.Born and brought up in a valley in Northern India I've witnessed how a naturally blessed city was changed in no time by man into a motor raging, concrete filled mayhem.I depict here, the story of the magical ruins of an ancient city called 'Hampi'.. Of how it went on from being one of the most successful empires to zilch. To me this scholarship comes across as a circle connecting some of the most important dots in my life. Needless to say travel and photography, both being my passions when come across like opportunities as your contest give me a adrenaline rush no bounds.Photography was not 'in my blood'(as they say) but the day I got my first camera I definitely knew that this was where my heart lay...a part of my life's scrimmage resolved. With no professional training the opportunity of getting to learn from one of the best professionals in the field would be like dream come true.Last but not the least by my photography I aim to capture the remotest of places, people, animals from every corner of the world and lay them on a larger platform for the people to see much beyond from where they stand, reaching distances by just blinking an eyelid, understanding their fellow beings from the farthest corner on earth, making the world a less unknown place to live.
