What We Miss: The things most walk past and never notice

My Scholarship entry - What We Miss

USA | Monday, November 10, 2014 | 5 photos

I am studying at Montana State University working towards a photography degree. I got my start and inspiration from my grandmother who is a New York artist who focuses on painting, but she got her start in photography. I was planning on making a trip to the amazon this upcoming summer (2015) but lost my job and have no funding so when I saw this opportunity I could not pass it up. I started my own business in Washington state but it has not taken off yet. I have always been the family photographer but I didn't start being a serious photographer until a few years ago. I have been fortunate enough to travel many places, from Spain to Mexico and all across northern America. My passion is in the art of photography, but I know I need a job to support it, so my dream is to work for a journal/magazine as their photographer or be a photographer for the Navy. Getting this opportunity would be a great chance to go explore somewhere I have always wanted to visit and also a great chance to make beautiful pictures. I shoot digital on a D7000, but prefer film. I have two 35mm that I love, a 4x5 and my personal favorite a Rolicord. Some of my best work is on film and I have not yet scanned it.
