My Scholarship entry - Tonga Sao (welcome)

Madagascar | Monday, November 24, 2014 | 5 photos

I have a BA in Anthropology during which I spent a semester in the rain forests of Madagascar at Dr Patricia Wright’s research centre & a summer term in Tanzania. I am completing my MA in Poverty & Development & will attempt to engage in work that will combine travel, photography &development. This scholarship will be a remarkable experience for me, as I will be able to see a new country & learn about the kind of photography that fuels my passion. I love travelling & meeting new people, experiencing different cultures & nature in all its glory. I have learnt photography on digital cameras & I am an advocate of digital photography. I try to take pictures that require as little editing as possible so the picture is as real as possible. My photography is very documentary style. Capturing an image that can make people think & create a thought or an emotion is what I attempt to do. This thought or emotion could be the feeling of joy by looking at a festival picture or wanting to help in conservation by seeing a picture of an animal. The natural flow of thoughts & feelings is what I try to incite through photography.
