The Discovery Trip

NEW ZEALAND | Wednesday, 7 May 2014 | Views [126] | Scholarship Entry

In New Zealand, every place is more beautiful than other and there is a very fascinating fact that there is no land mass which is far than 128 kms from Sea.

I was awestruck by Waiheke trip, 30 minutes ferry trip from Auckland with my soul-mate Daniel.I was telling him that it is very beautiful and i cannot imagine about a better place then this. He showed me the pictures of South Island and seriously that was unreal and very captive.
I decided that I have to see these places at any cost and finally after 3 months I went to South Island with my Mexican friend Rocio.
We decided to do a road trip around South Island and I was the only driver because of the left hand drive. It was total 2000 km drive from Christchurch-Lake Tekapo- Mt Cook-Queenstown-Milford Sound-Te Anau-Queenstown -Dunedin-Queenstown. It was a 10 day trip and i will never forget the day we created this crazy itinerary.

Finally, the moment arrived when we boarded the flight from Auckland to Christchurch, i was damn nervous and was just following my heart. I will like to share my favorite destination in this whole trip Aaroki /Mt cook, the place where Edmund Hillary trained himself for the first Mt Everest expedition.

It was 330 kms drive from Christchurch and I had no clue about what to expect, the pictures i saw was of Queenstown and Milford Sound. The little i knew what was about to unveil. We started and after one hour what i witnessed was amazing and directly from discovery channel. It was a blue lake which looked so blue that it was hard for us to believe our eyes. I told Rocio that it feels like I am watching a travel series on discovery. Every turn we took, it lead us to more spectacular views again and again. When i saw first sight of Mt Cook,i lost my heart to it and for a moment i forgot i was driving. It looks like a magnanimous power house of nature, which has been created to show humans that what the supreme being stand for. After reaching Mt cook village, I couldn't stop myself from walking around and I went to see Sir Edmund Hillary Alpine Center. The crazy fact here is I didn't enter into it,as I was feeling so close to the mountains and it seemed superficial to me look at any man made thing. I could feel the passion of Edmund while standing at the foot of Mt Cook. There was a positive and vibrant energy in the atmosphere, which I strongly every mountain lover should feel once in a lifetime.
