My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
Thailand | Saturday, December 1, 2012 | 5 photos
Living in a refugee camp, I have reassessed the value and contribution of my photography. Speaking to people whose amazing lives are hidden from the world, I’m now not only looking to document daily life, but to take photographs which convey meaningful emotions and stories.
During 2012, I moved from photographing ancient, snow-covered cities to taking abstract photographs of modern architecture before I started living and working in a refugee camp. Whilst my technique has been challenged, I’ve demonstrated my commitment to improving by blogging a daily photograph. Looking back, it’s noticeable that my technique has substantially developed. Now that I’m at the right level to appreciate tuition, it’s not only my photography, but the stories of those I meet along the way, that will benefit.
