A busy street in Varanasi during peak hours of travel. Locals generally prefer to travel on bicycles and motorcycles to commute, rather than using bigger vehicles due to narrow lanes and heavy traffic.

A view of Varanasi's cremation ghat, commonly known as Manikarnika Ghat. As per the Hindu mythology belief, the person who is cremated here on sandal wood logs, gets salvation (moksha) from the re-birth cycle. There are a huge number of dead bodies brought here every day for cremation and it also attracts a lot of International tourists where they view the cremation process either from a boat in river Ganges, or just walk across the ghat.

Hindu priests perform Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat in Varanasi. Aarti is a pleasant ritual of worshipping river Ganga by waving the lamp in circular fashion, in clockwise manner around the deity. Every evening, thousands of devotees from all around the world come to see this special worship.
