I believe that everything in life happens for a reason. So I knew it was not coincidence that my aunt emailed me about your film submission contest a couple weeks ago and that I bumped into the star of my mini documentary submission, Everett, a couple days later on my way to work. This mentorship has been waiting for me and it's finally the opportune time for me to take it! When I graduated college two years ago I bought my first video camera(canon xf100), a new pair of Nike's and a hiker's pack. I was ready to travel the world as a documentary filmmaker and never look back! Unfortunately my student loans put a halt on that dream and I took a full time job to begin paying them off. However, I vowed never to lose my love for both travel and videography. I knew a 9-5 desk job would never satisfy my undying desire to see the world so for the past two years my camera and I have taken many an adventure. We documented our discoveries in Los Angeles, Canada, Mexico, and even Bermuda! I am proud to say that I will be making my last college loan payment next month! You better believe I will be dusting that travel pack off and buying another pair of Nike's for this journey I am about to take. This mentorship is exactly what I have been waiting for. Nothing would make me more happy in life than to travel the world with my camera filming documentaries, weddings, and every new adventure along the way. Thank you for your consideration. ~ Mollie Markins
