My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Mexico | Friday, November 23, 2012 | 5 photos

Growing up in Greece, I was surrounded by contrasts of natural beauty and modern monstrosities. Photography helps display all aspects of life, which is why it is used to tell stories accurately around the globe. I became intoxicated with photography on my travels to Mexico where the people and nature from whales to iguanas, to wave patterns are all inspiring. Photography eased its way into my everyday life reaching the point where I was never without a camera and found myself photographing to relax, to exercise and eventually to remember. I stayed in Mexico for six months and my photographs are the only things that remain connecting me to my best memories from my travels.
From the day I left Mexico, all I could think of was returning to continue travelling and photographing. It is what I hope and live to accomplish and such a rare opportunity to travel and learn from Jason Edwards would be an experience of a life time and help me improve my skills to better tell life's stories.

These pictures are from the fondest memories of my life, travelling, working and living in Mexico and I hope they can take the viewer on the same journey as me.

About mogli

There was one specific tree that all the iguanas in the village seemed to love to chill in. All you had to do was look up the tree and zoom in to find hundreds disguised or camouflaged in different spots. I made a daily trip to photograph and stare at them for hours, but this huge one was the most impressive with its vibrant colours and size.
