Shallow Admirers

The series of images were taking whilst I was volunteering in Tenerife earlier this year. I volunteered for a whale conservation company called the Atlantic Whale Foundation, and my duties were to work on the tourists whale watching boats, gathering data observations of the short-finned pilot whales and bottle nosed dolphins which are resident species.
The images focus on the tourists, many of the holiday-makers treated these whale watching expeditions as a prime opportunity to top up their tans, sleep off a hangover or to take advantage of the free bar. It was a shame to see the lack of enthusiasm they had towards the whales and dolphins as one day, their grandchildren or even their grandchildren may never get a chance to experience these species in the future if we don't fight for a stop to whale hunting and help protect their conservation.
