I have a problem. I am choosing to write this essay instead of completing an assignment that I have to submit in 5 days. Irresponsible but habitual; a product of a family that has been engrossed in culture. The visual is my passion, camera in hand I am resolute in seeking originality, a desire to capture everything I want to see, constructing my envisioned imagination in a realm of pixels.
My pivotal moment came in 2010 when I went to the Veolia Wildlife Exhibition and was entranced by Antonio Busiello’s ‘Storm Gathering.’ It effected an understanding that I needed something physical to appease my full-time infatuation and I know I need help along that journey.
Born to a mixed-race family I am innately concerned with culture, and by extension a love for the visual. I want to be able to learn how to use photography to alter the way in which people assume the world to be, to learn, and to create innovative pathways through my own lens. Avoiding cliché, to work alongside Mr. Edwards would be incredible; to have someone to learn from, to able to engage with form, shape, colour and everything that comes with a press of the shutter.
