My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
Colombia | Wednesday, June 5, 2013 | 4 photos
Photos tell stories, like a song, a photo can capture a feeling at a specific moment. A handful of photos capture just a few moments of an extraordinary journey. I am a Nurse, currently living in the middle of Western Australia. Polaroids have captured my interest, even captured the interest of the police this afternoon as I was taking photos. I ordered polaroid film off the internet, read books and blogs about photography. I proudly filled my photo album today with polaroids. When prioritizing backpack space, a camera or three will get prime position. I’d like to be able to share instant photos with travellers and locals. Travelling in South America with only a little Spanish I used photography to cross language barriers. I used my camera to take photos of dogs in the flooded Amazon to promote adoption and animal welfare. A waterproof camera is a valuable tool in a flooded animal shelter. I would like to use photography to share the good that is going on in the world and promote awareness of the places that are in need. I would like to volunteer as a photographer. Learning new skills about photography will open the doors for even more opportunities and to capture my own travels.
