My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
Iceland | Monday, January 7, 2013 | flickr photos
From the early age of two, I have spent a considerable amount of time traveling around the world. The people and places I've seen have opened my eyes in comparison to my sheltered experiences at home. From the poverty stricken people of India and Peru to the immense beauty of Iceland and Patagonia, it was always in the unfamiliar, that I sought my strength and inspiration. Photography became my way of eternally capturing that feeling.
The characteristics I possess which make me an ideal student for this profession start with my patience and sense of adventure, which have always led me to find the perfect shot, as a hunter unceasingly searching for its prey. Additionally, my jovial personality has allowed me to find new people from differing walks of life and study more about human life and culture rather than being comfortable with my own interpretation. As a photographer, I understand that part of my purpose is to shine light on the small crevices in this earth that the world does not see.
I would put the new skills attained through this scholarship to good use for the planet, and hope to be thoroughly considered. In any event, I offer my appreciation for this opportunity.
