My Scholarship entry - New York, New York.

I should be chosen for the scholarship as it is exactly what I have wanted to do with my life.
I graduated from Uniwith a degree in Photography in 2013 and have since been working tirelessly to save money to follow my dream and go to South America. I spend every minute of free time researching my trip to SA. I've always found the place fascinating and would love nothing more than to get to know the locals and photograph the wildlife - I'm even teaching myself Spanish in order to converse out there!
It's my life goal to become a travel photographer, immersing myself in local cultures and portraying them to the Western World via magazines/websites such as Nat Geo and World Nomads. I'm fit and flexible enough to accommodate any situation that is thrown at me and determined to do my very best.
I've chosen 5 photos I took in New York as they were taken on a plastic 35mm film camera and I feel capture the hipster feel of NY. There are so many sleek and elegant photos of NY published, that I feel that an edgier, more on trend view of the city throws something a little different into the mix, whilst maintaining images of the key landmark sights. The blur conveys the hectic feel of NY.
