Our film is inspired by the belief that no matter how much time you spend getting to know a place, there is always more to discover. Though we had both lived in Durham, NC for five years, we spent Marissa's last day in town discovering things we had never done before. As a result, we discovered an unforgettable adventure where brilliant colors, rich aromas, and warm smiles greeted us.
We've found ourselves inspired by moving images and have accomplished much in our short engagement with our craft. Now we would like to extend our work beyond local and community levels onto a more global scale. We have a flair for engaging poetic documentary and believe that every stranger has the potential to become a kindred spirit. Winning this scholarship would mean more than ten days of adventure and excitement; it would be an opportunity to inspire and share our infectious enthusiasm for life. We hope our adventurous spirits will take us to new and exciting places every day, even if they’re in our own backyard.
Marissa graduated from Duke University's Visual Studies program in May 2011, while Junho graduated from the Duke with a certificate in Arts of the Moving Image in September 2012.
