I am Juwon James Ogunlade, a Nigerian, lover of nature who has also touched people lives with his Musical and drawing Skills. My encounter with natural occurrences on daily basis makes me to fall in love with natures. Getting to know about camera I realized that it will be better off to take these shots for aesthetics purpose and to convey messages very well to people because “a picture worth a thousand words”.
My exposure to natures and places drives me to take different kinds of shots that will make positive impact and convey meaningful messages to the whole world.
It has always be my dream to be a photographer. The reason is to affects peoples life with my shots and to interpret messages better than mere written stories. In the bid to actualize my dream, I enrolled in a tertiary institution to study Mass Communication but all to no avail because we were only taught photojournalism without any practical training. But now, I am rest assured that my goals will be achieved with the initiative of National Geography Channel and WorldNomads.com: Travel Photography scholarship 2011 because the trip will give me privilege to diligently learn photography deeply, give me an opportunity to revive the dying state of photography across the globe and to make beautiful images in the field instead of creating images with computer.
With the strong passion I have for learning photography and the mission to revive and shape the state of photography across the globe; I am totally convinced that I should be part of this trip (Travel photography scholarship 2011).
