Monday morning, Debbie and I set out to visit a winery. All the reviews said it was a long trek out, but worth it for the spectacular views. Off we go on the paved road and then on a dirt “highway”. The dirt highway turned into an off roading course like I’ve never experienced. I had to reach into my bag of tricks and pull out my NASCAR and Baja 1000 skills. Lil’ Mama ( my car) did her thing, but I was seriously worried about breaking an axle. Large sections of the road had been washed away, replaced by craters! It went on like this for about 5 miles. Finally we came to a section of the road that was completely covered by water. Since I couldn’t gauge the depth, we had to turn back. All of that and we didn’t even get any wine.
