The girls are wearing Maria Claras, formal dresses worn during the Spanish era. They're part of a dance troupe competing in the annual Sinulog in Cebu, a celebration in honor of the Blessed Santo Nino.

My Russian friend Olya became part of the Bugsay (Paddle) Dragon Boat team in Boracay and asked me to come and take photos. There weren't a lot places to take photos in the shade so I probably got more of a tan than she did. The good news: her team placed second overall and earned a spot in the Malaysian Dragon Boat race.

This was taken during the fiesta in Boracay. I had just come back from spending the day aboard a yacht with my office mates. When I was walking back home, I saw these boys with the drummers right behind them.
