My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

These photos were taken at a 2011 show of the band Children Collide. I often take my camera along to gig's, and no matter how good or bad the music, I always have a great night when I take my camera. These particular photos capture a certain kind of zest for life, showing these musicians in their element, creating something beautiful, both musically and physically. I have a deep passion for capturing 'the moment' with a camera, and to one day master the skills of combining light, movement, composition, reflection (and so on) would be such an amazing feeling. I believe that we never stop learning and taking in our surrounds, and a camera is just one tool of soaking up as much information and atmosphere as possible. Moments only last for a moment, and I strive to learn how to work with the elements to better capture the moment and create the best photograph possible. I love to learn about the world, and experiencing different cultures is a true passion of mine. Combining this with photography I plan to one day take the best photographs I can to fully appreciate our world as it is and the diverse forms of life and moments in time, and to help others do the same.
