Troopy Trip 2010

My Photo scholarship 2010 entry

Worldwide | Wednesday, August 11, 2010 | 5 photos

In July 2010 i was lucky enough to have the opportunity to travel around Australia with 5 friends. We travelled in a Troopy, and covered 14,000km in 4 weeks. The photos i have chosen are 5 from 2000, it was very difficult to choose just 5 to show you.
The first photo is from Kalbarri, which is about 580km north of Perth. I love this photo as it is the silhouette of my friends and the 'troopy' watching their first ever sun set over the ocean. The second photo is of a beach 200km south of Broome. We were very lucky to have been given permission to walk on the beach by an Aboriginal community who are custodians to the land. I love this photo because of the peacefulness of the colours and the boys searching the beach for the most spectacular shells. Photo three is also from the same beach. We came across lots of hermit crabs feasting on this washed up shark. Photo four is taken from the famous Cable Beach. The day we were there it was 30 degrees and absolutely stunning. The water and sky were blue and the sand was white. Im currently painting this photo because i am in love with the vibrant colours. Lastly photo five was taken at a crocodile park in Darwin. This photo makes me laugh because i think it catches the personality of the young croc as he tries to catch food.
My photos were taken from my Canon eos 500D which i was given for my 21st in February. I have a passion for photography and get annoyed when my photos do not show the brilliantness of my subject. This is purely due to lack of knowledge and experience. I would love the opportunity to be shown the proper techniques in order to produce amazing shots. Im a fun, active and outgoing girl who would cherish every moment if i were chosen for this scholarship.
Thanks
Merryn
