Hi guys,
well we are about half way round Scotland, and its been very beautifull…. Even tho the weather hasn’t really been all sun and shine, but you wouldn’t get that here anyway.
So we set off on Monday, made our way into Pitlochry to get on the bus… we met our tour gides, Dave who just talks and talks and talks and loves to put on the aussie accent, and Ruth who is crazy lady but funny. So we got on the bus went like 5 min down the road for our first stop down at the killiecrankie pass. Killicrankie was a battleground between the Scottish jacobites and the british soldiers back in the 1700’s.
Our next stop was the tom akin whiskey distillery. the free samples at the end was the best part of this trip because the smell wasn’t winning anything….!!! It stunk!!! There was a keg they are saving from 1965, the oldest bottles they actually sell are a 30 year old single malt whiskey for 450pounds!.. So found out interesting information about whiskey!!!

From there we were off to the standing stones, we had to think of what we thought the standing stone use was for and dan jess amy and I came up with we think they would be good for paint ball arena… we had the most creative on the bus…. Hehe. So the stones date back to 500bc and still no-one knows what they were for.
By now we have become friends with most the English speaking people on the bus, another guy from Aussie - Chris from QLD, and a NZ-winnie, South afican chick - Val. All pretty nice. Dan loves havent the guys around…

we stopped at the battle of Culloden site, when in 1746 the last ever battle was fought on british soil between the Scottish higland clans (jacobites) and the british army, Highlander lost really bADly, and their way of life was then banned bby the british. This was very interesting part of the trip, found out good info of places in Aus that are named from the scotish words.

We were off again, off to Loch ness…. Something to put a smile on our faces as Culloden was very sad. I wanted to swim in it all along but didn’t think you could untill Dave said we could if we really wanted to and made some speech about when we are old we can tell our grand kids that we swam with the monster and not have to lie to them and tell them we did when we really didn’t…. |So 8 out of the 30 on the bus got down to next to nothing…. And went swimming in black, dark murky water…. But kinda clean at the same time, Well it doesn’t matter the colour of the water what matters is how cold it bloody was…. So ill let you all no it was Me, Dan , Jess, Amy, Chris - aussie, Winnie - NZ , Val- sth African, and Dav who went swimming…. Yeah no Asians or anyone else just the strong ones….. That ended up cramping… not I no about 50% it would have been like on the titanic…. COLD!!!
So after that we went and found our hostel think is was my worst night sleep….. But had a good pub dinner…. And a dance..

There is so much little bits I havent written im sorry, I havent been very well… so if you want to no every little thing have a look on jess’s blog page. She write so much… and the way im feeling I cant write much. This is actually more then I thought I would write.

Much love to you all and im sorry bout the no photos its hard to up load them ill try get a few on soon… for you Danielle…hehe.

Mel
