NEW DELHI 29TH AUGUST 2009

what a long and strenous day! humayun's tomb is huge, majestic and pretty. he must have been greatly loved byhis wife..and his barber (an entire mausoleum was dedicated to his barber!!!). the Lotus temple was in itself an experience. i went from complete ignorance of Baha'i ideology to finding myself inspired and intrigued by it! the entire lack of sleep of the past week and the noise and the heat completely set us back so we tried Delhi zoo. it's extensive grounds were remarkable even though most of the animals were hiding indoors from the heat. the cultural bits of the day were great, and the colonial look of New Delhi was orderly and clean - queter, safer, but by no means slower in pace than its older counterpart.
