Travel in Krabi

My Photo scholarship 2010 entry

Worldwide | Thursday, September 30, 2010 | 1 photos

I had a 3 days and 2 nights tour in Krabi this september. I count myself fortunate to be able to grow up in southeast asia as i really love my neighbour countries. It's a place full of cultures and life seems untouched, rich in natural resources and lovely people.

Same goes to Krabi, Thailand. The five photos that i submitted are what i thought the natural part of people/things in Krabi. The photo of sunrise was taken at Ao Nang Pier. Many locals passed by me heading towards to the pier to take one of their daily mode of transportation i.e long tail boat to another island.

A little boy was kept in the ice box as the mother and grandmother were selling breakfast nearby the pier that the locals passed by everyday. A woman and her handmade soaps, using only a fruit knife. A smiley face from a little girl when we were trying to figure out what were those colourful stuffs which she was selling. Everyone, no matter what your nationality is, stood up when thailand national song arose in the air.

The main source of income in Krabi is tourism. The main tourist is European. It was hit hard in 2004 when Phuket was struck by a tsunami caused by Indian Ocean Earthquake. The locals living standard maybe poor, but they are living out of the best they could.

I just started photography when i have the ability to own a DSLR. I love photography, and i wish everyone including myself to have a few seconds of deep-thought when looking at my photographs. Hence, i would continue to learn and advance in the art of photography.
