Journeys with bodies.. journeys with minds.. journeys with writings.. journeys with photographs.
When I was alone travelling through Latin America, photography opened up new ways of connecting with people.
The shoots I took became stories, and these stories inspired poetry. Each photograph is unique and tells a different story and all are flavoured by the vistas and people I met on my travels. I feel my photographic journey began at the bottom of a hill I very much want to climb. I believe the National Geographic scholarship would offer me an excellent opportunity for professional advancement, and I feel more experience in this field will complement my current studies in development.
What I lack in technical experience, I make up for in hard work and a real desire to tell people’s truths. Jason’s help would stimulate new levels of creativity and motivate me to improve and build upon my passion. Photography for me is a way to stop the clock and capture reality but remain timeless within it. I envision myself recording my trip to Greenland in this manner, and I believe I can forget my limitations and escape into the freedom and creativity of photography.
