I have arrived in Newquay (south Cornwall) for one and a half weeks to experience the sand, sun and cliff tops . This is a truly fresh, chilled escape
from the the busy cities of England. The journey took around five and a half hours from London, with three changes between stations. This I must say was
a little stressful, however well worth the £10 saving ($20 approx)
I originally landed in the relaxed but lively St Christopher's Inn, which is a well known chain backpackers throughout England.
I had previously at the same backpackers in Bath, where the staff were overly hospitable and extremely helpful with a variety of queries . Attached to the Newqauy accommodation is 'Belushi's,' one of the prefered local watering holes. This is a great spot to meet people with great deals on drinks and an awesome selection of burgers (with vegan friendly options as well!)
After dumping my bags, a super friendly outgoing Russian/English fellow boader, Yaroslav, burst into the room. Within two minutes I was joining him and his Austrian friend Johanis to watch the sunset.
After meeting some more backpackers which were also sharing the room, we all decided upon recommendation that we would visit the 'Eden Project'.
I cannot recommend this sight enough to everyone in Cornwall! In short it is a large Eco global garden, with three huge, hot house globes, demonstrating the worlds variety of rainforests, plant produce, herbs, flowers and food sources. At the end of your educational journey you can indudge in your own hand made tipi, sip a cider and watch a band. Or feast on fresh food selection in the many restaurants and cafe's on site. This is by far the most educational and enlightening experience I have had sight seeing in the UK. For all ages and walks of life, this is truly a must see.
budget friendly tips for today:
