(I kept a journal while I traveled to Italy in 2007 - I love how journaling allowed me to capture my thoughts, feelings, and surroundings at that very moment in time)

Yesterday, after a lengthy journey on the subway, we arrived at the highly anticipated Vatican! I, personally, wanted too see why our chaperons were so enthusiastic about us going there. Well, the Vatican was closing soon, for the day, so we had to practically race to see the 16th (Sistine) Chapel.
Our large group of student ambassadors plowed through all the tourist-elbowing, jungle of language barriers, and hot perspired bodies...embarking to the room with the Sistine Chapel was well fought for.
It displays the testament of the bible of the critical and/or memorable stories of the ancient Christian faith. Just thinking of the time Michael Angelo took to complete the room makes my head hurt. I am incapable of utilizing the correct/appropriate words to express the over-powering awestruck feeling that washes over oneself when one looks upon this exquisite display of artistry!
