My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I am a 20 year old student studying civil engineering in Christchurch, New Zealand.
My interest in photography came from my father, who in my opinion has one of the best jobs in the world; a photo journalist. Through his profession, and passion for travel and adventure I have been lucky enough to visit some amazing places, and the experiences certainly weren't lost on me.
I regard myself as a very rookie photographer, with my only knowledge coming from watching others. This opportunity provides an unheralded opportunity to learn more about the art of photography and shot composition.
To me, photography and travel represent windows into different cultures and places. Without them, we would be awfully ignorant of what is out there in the world. Photography drives me to discover and experience all that I can, and being able to capture some of these moments and share them with others is a simply incredible thing. The scholarship to Greenland and learning from somebody like Jason would be immeasurably educational and hopefully enable me to share even more.
