Camper sold pretty quickly, lost a couple of 100 pounds, but it was still worth having. We had a great 6 weeks travelling the North Island. The weather has turned for the worse, a bit like the UK - Rain!
As the camper has sold and the weather is not brilliant, we have brought our flight to Australia forward, we will now leave on the 16 April, exactly 2 months to the date that we arrived.
Three days before we are due to leave, Sue and Graeme (friends of Lady Foresters, who I met last year at work), invite us to go out on their motor boat. It is beautiful. It's 10 years old, immaculate and Matt is very impressed with the 2x700hp diesel engines, especially when Graeme let him drive it!!! (He was like the cat that got the cream!) We had lovely couple of hours with them. They are both 'young at heart' and so easy to get on with. (They feel like old friends and we have only met them a couple of times!). Sue has bought pastries for our elevenies, as we sail around the islands, close to the city. The sun shone that day, for the first time in days, how lucky were we?
How is it we are on the other side of the world and Matt still has to do his TAX RETURN! even though he explained our situation to them before we left! Anyway that's done now!
To sum up New Zealand, - Matt could live here! I would not! It's very beautiful, but for me, it is not a lot different from being at home. It is as expensive, if not more so, but the way of life is a lot more laid back. They seem to know how to make the most of their leisure time too. The cafe culture is huge here, every other shop is a food place of some description. We'll see how it compares to Oz.
We have treated ourselves to a little lap top, so I am hoping I will be blogging a little more regularly. Hope I don't bore you all to death!
