This was taken walking on Mahatma Gandhi Road in Mumbai on the 26th of December. I thought it was interesting in light of the Dec 16 Delhi gang-rape case in which the Indian Police was slammed for not doing enough to protect it's people, especially in regards to sexual violence. Also around this time, Salman Khan's (a very famous Bollywood star) manslaughter case was put on hold yet again, adding to the already ten years that it has been going on, further slamming the High Court/Indian Police.

Mumbai is actually an island connected to mainland Maharastra by a series of roads. This is at the hook of Mumbai at Girgaum Chowpatty (Girgaum Beach). The whole stretch has this ongoing bench where hundreds of people come together and sit to see the beautiful pink, Bombay sunset and stay happily until twilight. I saw this man help his wife sit on the bench as it is a bit of an effort to get up.

Bombay was a city of sporadic beauty and entertainment. While I was walking outisde of the Jehangir Art Gallery after seeing both tribal Bastar statues and contemporary Indian photography, I saw this cartoonist working his magic much to the delight of the locals who looked on with incredible interest. The cartoonist was one of many artists who sell their artwork outside of the gallery in a public art space for the passers-by to purchase.
