Selling Streets in Vietnam

Cyclo riders in Vietnam spend hours on end transporting passengers around town on their rickety bikes. They pedal around all day calling out ‘Cyclo, Cyclo’ to any potential customer. The drivers look so at home on their pedal powered taxis and it is a pretty common sight to see them catching up on sleep in between customers.

Selling goods on the streets is always a team effort and more often than not a family affair. Everyday this family of fruit sellers gather their produce, transport it on their scooters to their favourite corner and set up shop for hopefully a successful days trading.

Street stalls throughout Vietnam not only sell an array of goods they also act as a place to socialize. After a hard day selling on the streets themselves, workers often spend hours at a time hanging around stalls like this, playing cards, drinking, laughing and catching up on all the days gossip.
