I am Mathias Utz, I am 34 years young, I live in Schwetzingen, Germany and I am working as a research associate in Heidelberg. A friend of mine send me the link and he said I should apply for this scholarship. Probably he did that because most of my life I am planning trips all across the globe. Unfortunately I don’t have enough money to go everywhere but as soon as I have enough… I am on my way. On my first trip in 2004 I went to Nepal to see the Mount Everest right from the base camp. During this journey in a beautiful country with its mountains, jungle, wildlife and its kindly people I started to become crazy about photography. I just remember starry sky and that I could see our galaxy for the first time in my life. Only my digital camera was the limit… it was impossible to take a picture and I would like to go back to see it again and to share the pictures with my family and friends back home. That was the reason why I now have to split my money into two heaps one for traveling and another one for camera equipment. I think I still have to learn a lot and that is only one reason why I would like to meet Jason Edwards. He basically does what I would like to do within my dreams.
