My name is Martha, a Tourism Management student in Kenya. My interest in photography is as old as I can remember. When I was growing up, my mom would regularly take us to photo studios and get a family photo, most of which are still as vivid as they were then. My fascination with photos and cameras grew over the years.

As an amateur photographer, I would like to learn as much as I can from the photography field. I want to capture a place or community or an individual's story through my camera. I want to be able to see their world and my world through their eyes. I want to tell their story, and my story. I want to share their daily lives with the world. This scholarship would be the ideal opportunity to learn how to capture all these. I often look into and compare winning photos in contests and try to look for what the judges were looking for. It would be amazing to learn this first hand by winning the scholarship!
