The inspiration for this film came from my own life. I wanted to approach a subject matter that, considering
the tight timeframe, was achievable without the need of extensive research.
Once I assessed my surrounding for the tools I had at my disposal, I basically
broke the planning into three segments: Pre-Production, Production and
Post-Production. When I wrote the narration, I wanted to make sure that I
focused on topics that are relatable. Something that came from the heart and
was honest. I also wanted to make sure
I could deliver this film by the given deadline. My main challenge with this
piece were the obvious time constraints, where I had to find an original
interpretation of the brief and turn it into a polished film to the best of my
ability. My ambitions as a documentary maker, is to make films that are
purposeful, factual and concise so people can relate to the subject matter.
Only then, I can make a difference and change the things that have a negative
impact on people’s lives. In relation to this project, I believe that the smallest creation is
better than the greatest intention.
