Travel Temple

The imposing Glass Wall Front that welcomed human masses from all over the World gave the Structure of the Building a scent of twenty first century modernism. Despite the open Gates and Welcome signs, the entire complex contrasted brutally with the environment it was built in and wrapped it an appearance of Power.
As I entered by the Main door I got hit by the enchanting singsong of a thousand of voices, expressing their excitement in a variety of languages that made me wonder if the Tower of Babel had really existed and how the beautiful mess of sounds could have been structured to form understandable codes for every country.
Somebody running by hit me with violence and pulled me out of my thoughts: apparently the enormous Rucksack I was carrying, that consistently tried to bend me (which I just handled with a forced smile), did not make me visible enough. I understood the hint and started fighting my way thru the Chaos to reach one of the several counters that would take over the weight and release my body and mind. Once the task accomplished, I turned around and got instantly immerged by the ocean of Pilgrims.
Since I first entered one of these Modern Time Temples, the same emotions of excitement, great fear and deep thankfulness use to overcome me. Promises of open spaces, undiscovered places, forgotten stories of long ago lost cultures and mysterious tastes seem all at once awaiting me in not yet seen paradises. The air gets seemingly heavier while astonishing surprises are unveiled in front of my inner eye, my puerile cantering fantasy projects me into adventures more extraordinary then the ones all my childhood heroes combined could have ever experienced in the books that twisted my insatiable mind. A deep breath and the precious gems of my Day Dreams get hidden again in the treasure of my imagination, while reality has me back in firm Hands.
I like to get early to the Airport. Their international conformity assures a feeling of Home in the Unknown and their doors are always open when the Wanderlust overcomes you. They are Modern Time Temples that represent joint connection for our World. They blur not only borders, but also distances in space and Time, executing the power they own to make people of every nation interact and to unify humanity as an Entity. The time spent at the Airport helps me to enter this state of joyful, intense anticipation that comes from imagining future pleasure, called “Vorfreude”. Former Traveler, give it a try!
