So, now writing this from home. Back to the train trip from Pernem. Took taxi from Arambol, half hour, 350 rupees (should have been 300), got to the station in plenty of time to have my last railway station chai (sob) and samosa. The train was on time - surprise, and there were actually a few westerners waiting as well. It was a pleasant trip, slept well, but I was woken at 5am by some ladies who were getting ready an hour ahead of their station. They turned the lights on, so that was it for sleep for me. The train pulled into CST station at 6.15, and it was bedlam, so many people rushing everywhere. It ws a strange sensation to look around and think about the people that has lost their lives a couple of months before.

I hadn't decided where I wanted to book in for the day until my flight went tonight, thought somewhere near the station. I was approached by a muslim taxi driver, who gave me a card for a hotel that seemed reasonable 400rpees, and he said it was quite close.  Well, by whose standards!  Maybe in a big city like Mumbai it was close, but he did drive for 10 mins, and when we arrived, found that there were no 400r rooms left, only 650... surprise surprise.  But I was there and it seemed too hard to find the place I had thought would be ok. So had a rest and set out to walk from there to Fort area, and then go and pay homage to the Taj Hotel, and Leopolds Cafe.
