My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

My name is Maria. I’m one of 13 kids and was born and raised in Indiana. I’ve always had a strong curiosity for the world around me and worked hard to feed that by way of independent travel throughout 5 contents. I'm learning what it means to connect with people and my surroundings. And Its changed the way I live. My favorite images are ones that tell stories about the people I've met and the cultures I've been lucky enough to be immersed in. They are often times the ones that evoke emotion inside me.

My dream is to be a photojournalist. I have a lust for adventure and storytelling. I am very eager and willing to learn! I think I should be considered for this opportunity because there's a lot I need to learn and I will pour everything I have into this experience to learn and grow as a photographer.
