Another tourist in Paris

As usual, the thing that interested me the most was what it is like to live in Paris. Would I enjoy spending my time in these streets if I had been born in this city? Would I appreciate the beauty of Paris? What does it feel like to grow up here, to go to school in Paris, to hang out with your friends next to the Panthéon and the Sorbonne? I observed every person in the street and imagined what it would be like to be a Parisienne.

As time went by I finally started thinking about visiting the French capital. I didn't plan any trip to Paris, but got a chance to visit the city. Even though it was the end of September, the few days I spent there were surprisingly sunny, though not too warm. As I was hiding my cold hands in the pockets, the French, which turned out to be quite cold-resistant, not only passed me by in their almost tropical outfits, they even used their last chance to work on their tan.

I walked around the city. Sometimes I used the map, sometimes I just followed my senses. Of course, just as any metropolis Paris has different faces. It's magnificent, it's gorgeous, it's romantic, but it's also the dirtiest European city I have ever seen and offers you the most disgusting images right in the middle of the day just as you are changing metro lines. Living here can feel so lonely. People pass you by, running fast, being late, not caring.
