My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

My name is Mareta, 20 years of age from New Zealand. Im a full time student at VUW, going on to my second year of Film studies. When I saw this ad, I jumped at the opportunity to be able to learn more about photography and be able to have this once in a lifetime experience.
Photography is one of my biggest passions, and I would absolutely love the chance to be able to pursue a career in travel photography. The schools that I attended growing up never offered photography so I was never exposed to the beauty of photography. However I was gifted a canon 550d in 2011 and since then I have found a new passion.
Im a self taught photographer, often taking photos at different events in my community such as weddings, birthdays or school events. I do not make profit out of any of these evens but rather take them as a learning experience to better my photos for future events. My love for Samoa has always made me want to travel and capture the culture and beauty of the Samoan people so to be able to have this opportunity to travel to Oman and capture the culture there would be the perfect opportunity for me to step out of my comfort zone as well as experience the life there through a lens.
