My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
Italy | Tuesday, November 20, 2012 | 5 photos
When I was a young boy around the age of 4, my Grandfather would visit on Wednesdays and take me on trips to the bush. He would educate me about the trees, flowers and wildlife and tell me stories from the past. From these early beginnings, I formed a love of nature and wilderness, for which I am very thankful. I also formed a keen eye.
My love for photography came later as I was able to start travelling. The ability to capture moments in time, people, places and culture fascinates me. Recently I visited the annual photography festival in Arles, France. It was an amazing exhibition and showed me how much photos can create strong emotions. Really inspirational.
Travel and photography are 2 great passions of mine. Given the chance I would gladly make a career from photography. I would relish the opportunity to learn tips from professionals on location and expand my knowledge. I hope to further my photography education, and transition into a photography career.
I hope one day I could capture images that inform and influence people about world environment issues. I would love to do this before what precious little wilderness is left, is gone forever.
