Working the world - My Photo scholarship 2012 entry

My Scholarship entry 2012 - Working the World.

USA | Sunday, January 13, 2013 | 5 photos

A photograph captures an entire universe within a frame. It is almost like freezing time in your hands for a second.
Taking a photograph allows me to tell a story. Most likely, I don’t get the whole tail but that fraction allows people to imagine the rest according to their own realities and minds.
When I was boy I would stare at photographs of different places and people and wondering if they had changed. I have been lucky enough to visit some of those places and the photographs then serve as a “time machine,” holding change, yet speaking of similarities.
Photography is my soul’s nourishment. When I photograph I don’t see the camera as an artifact but rather feel it as a part of my own body.
Taking pictures is the only thing I see myself doing. No other feeling compares to perceiving the world through a lens. It is my desire to, one day; show my grandchildren my stories through my photographs.
I see the scholarship as a learning experiencing that will allow me to further my thirst for knowledge and photographing, in the incredible scenarios of Oman having Jason Edwards, who has built a career doing just what he loves (as I do), as my mentor.
