My Scholarship entry - Old Jobs in the 21st Century

I have been passionate about photography since I was a child. I remember the first Kodak camera I used during a field trip to Pisa, and how joyfully nervous I was while waiting for photos to be developed. That thrill has never left me, and I still feel it today even though I use digital cameras. Being a curious person by nature, I have always been fascinated by the documentary aspect of photography, as well as by its incredible communication potentials. To me, photography means also spontaneity & attentions to details: I believe objects and situation can “talk” as loud as human beings. I never leave the house without my camera, it is my “third eye” so to speak. Reality fascinates me and still manages to surprise me, and I want to be ready to capture the moment whenever I can. I'm an amateur photographer, & working side by side with a pro from National Geographic would be a dream come true: I could learn so much from Mr. Edwards, and my technique could only improve under such a professional guide. Moreover, the Amazon would be a real challenge, so different from the environments I have been able to travel to so far, and I do love challenges almost as much as I love photography.
