My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Someone once very rightly said that "there is only you and your camera". I have been glued to the camera since i was a toddler, wheeling along my film camera every where i went. We were a duo, my grandfather and i, experimenting and getting excited at the prospect of capturing something powerful. I would sit for hours next to him as he toyed and fiddled around with his digital SLR that at that moment in time looked intimidating and daunting to me. It was his baby that in due time became my baby.

I want to experience the world. Capture fleeting moments that go unnoticed by many. Different culture have so many hidden stories to tell and tales to narrate and i wish to uncover them layer by layer. This is something that excites me as i enter this competition. I don't prize myself on being just a photographer, rather i wish to become a great story teller!
