Mobile Billboard- When i saw this in the desert festival at sam sand dunes in jaisalmer, i was a bit surprised, but also appreciative of the strategy followed. Camels were literally everywhere. As race participants, as audience stands, as tattooed photographic models and finally as a transport.

Forget two wheelers and four wheelers. The Villagers of Rajasthan have four leggers!( if you could say that!) Since camels are known as the ship of the desert, its no doubt that it also serves as the family vehicle for the villagers. This particular villager attracted my attention when he was seen cheering for one of the camel racers.

We must have seen and heard about horse race, dog race, even elephant race!. But it was quite surprising to see camels race! I always thought camels were very patient and usually sluggish. But in the last day of the desert festival at Jaisalmer, the camel race saw a huge crowd, with tourists and villagers from nearby villages, in equal numbers. The camel race was interesting to watch. So interesting that the race is an experience in itself!
