My Photo scholarship 2010 entry
Worldwide | Tuesday, October 5, 2010 | flickr photos
I took these pictures on July 21th - 2008 in the Aymara's new year.
That place is call Cariquima and is located in the north of Chile, on the altiplane. This is an ancient tradition and the ceremony takes place at the top of a hill to recibe the first rays of the sun. Aymara people celebrate the return of the sun and long days.
They call to Tata Inti (Sun) and Pacha Mama (Mother Earth) and pray for good harvests. To this date, 2010, Aymara people celebrate 5518 years of the Andinan Era.
The pictures where taken when I was 16. Now I'm 19 and I know I could make better works. I'm also a 1st. year photography student.
Hope you like.
