My Scholarship entry - Macedonia bouldering expedition

My name is Luka and I am an amateur photographer from Croatia with a strong desire to make it a profession. Ten years ago, after high school graduation, I had to quickly choose my further educational path; somehow I picked economics and pushed it all the way through masters. During that time I fell in love with the outdoors and travels became frequent, especially rock climbing trips. Along the way, I developed a need to document such adventures and show them to others through my perspective.
Unfortunately the market for such segments basically doesn't exist in my country, and I was able to get hired for only two photo assignments in my life, so actually all of my work shows just personal travels, moments with my friends and the lifestyle we have.
I always wanted to learn more about light, finding moments, recognizing details, basically everything that will help me tell a story through my photographs. There are not many photographers that get the chance to capture adventure images from remote places, therefore if I win the scholarship I believe to gain lots of new skills that will help me show the world interesting stories of the activities and places not familiar to the majority.
