From Vancouver to Mexico

My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

My name is Luiz Canedo, I'm 26, and I'm from Bolivia, but moved to Mexico almost 8 years ago.

I was asking myself why did I like photography, after looking at the pictures I have being taking lately I came with the closest thing to an answer. The first reason is because I am so hungry for images, it's almost lustful: there is so much beauty happening all the time, that we actually even invented a machine to stop time in an specific place, and we are able of keeping that moment, and just enjoy that piece of reality that we were able to isolate. When I see landscapes, different kind of people from all over the world, I just can't keep calm. It awakes my spirit of adventure. I want to live that, and I want to be able of sharing that story with others and show them what I saw.

There is always a sort of dilemma when it comes to travel and photography: enjoying the moment freely or just witness it? I found out that, even if apparently you will enjoy a travel without carrying that heavy and expensive camera everywhere, I just wouldn't stop thinking of all the shots I am missing. So, actually, for me, carrying that heavy camera is a way of enjoying fully the trip.
