My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I’m Luisa Neves, I’m a 19 year old girl from São Paulo, Brazil. I’m on the third year of filmmaking at FAAP University. I’m absolutely passionate about cinema and photography, and I just can’t picture myself studying or working with anything else. I’ve started taking pictures four years ago, and it was a case of “love at first sight”. It all began because of my natural curiosity. Then, even more enchanted by the world of photography and now aware of the infinite possibilities that it could show me, I bought a camera and started taking pictures everywhere. At first, I didn’t know what to focus on in terms of subject, or scene. But the more I clicked, the more I came to find that my favorite scenes revolve around simple daily-life, giving special attention to common people on the streets. Also, I try to show somethings that are close to me, a known universe, an intimate scene, differently. My work is easily identified with provincial-like scenes, capturing glimpses of humanity and warm gestures lit up in docile colors. Trying to reach that effect in a complete different environment would be an opportunity of a lifetime, specially in Greenland, the most wonderful and unique place.
