    The teahouses along the Annapurna trek cost roughly AUD80c a night. This one had such thin walls I could take a photo of Sally from my room next door. Her expression shows the altitude getting to her. She had lost her appetite by this time and struggled to make it out of bed. Views[287] This photo captures the exact moment my sister has an asthma attack. We had just climbed up a steep cliff face and came to rest on that ledge. I checked the playback on my camera and noticed Ellie's face looked strange. By the time I could ask her what was wrong she had stopped breathing. Luckily she carried a respirator with her. Views[328] Emily gets lost in the grass. Altitude sickness can be deadly if you continue to climb once you feel the symptoms, so we made lots of rest stops once we reached the 4000m mark. Views[244] Chocolate bars for dinner at Deurali. 3200m high and -5 degrees. We walked through fog for hours to reach this teahouse and couldn't see 5 metres in front of us the whole time. The only warmth came from a gas cooker placed under that table. Views[545] The last two hours trek up to Annapurna Base camp were by far the hardest of the whole walk. The thin air combined with aching legs and pure exhaustion meant we had to stop and rest frequently. Our Sherpa, Lara, is even feeling it. Views[1359]
