My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
Indonesia | Wednesday, January 2, 2013 | 5 photos
Bought my first DSLR in 2009 and would classify myself as an amateur photographer. I have not done any training courses, just played with my camera, read and practiced tutorials.
I love photography, I have a great appreciation for it and those who are able to capture shots which most wouldn’t be able to see. My favourite themes would have to be portraits, landscapes, automotive and architecture at night. In 2012 was able to visit Bali and Fiji for the first time. This was also my first time out of Australia with my DSLR. This opened me up to shooting other people, cultures and landscapes. I loved it. It was the highlight of the trips, wondering around taking photos.
I would say over the last 6 months, photography has become a major part of my life. I spend most of my free time with either my camera in hand or my head in a book about photography.
I would love to be given the opportunity to work with a professional like Jason Edwards. I feel that I could learn so much from him if I won this prize with his experience and dedication to the art of photography. This is an experience I wouldn’t want to miss out on and is why I am entering.
