The promenade in Sea Point is one of my favorite places to walk alone. People of all kinds jog, exercise, walk their dogs or idle their cars in parking lots next to the ocean to watch the sunset.

Right now, the platform from which this photo was taken is being excavated to rebuild the sea wall - construction crews uncovered hundreds of old glass bottles and ceramics from what used to be an old rubbish tip.
