My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I have travelled the world over the last five years which really started my dream of becoming a photographer professionally. Travel photography inspires me, perhaps because everything that is good in my life came from those experiences I found on the road. I love to capture a sense of atmosphere, timing a shot to give the maximum impact for the audience. Whether that is a street scene or a beautiful landscape, or even a portrait of a local person, all of these methods put together allow me to bring the world as I know it back home in my camera. I first started to photograph so that I would be able to remember all the amazing things that I saw, now, I use it in a more artistic expressive way, as if I am trying to explain a part of myself within each image, as well as capturing the scene I was a part of.

I should be chosen for this assignment as I have a background in travel photography and the roots of my creativity were born while travelling. My work speaks for itself, but having the chance to work with an established professional will be the final piece of the puzzle to ensure I achieve my lifetime goals of becoming a full time, professional travel photographer.
